Extend an Invacare bed rail so the vertical tubes at its head and foot end are positioned over the barrels of the bed frame.

Insert the tube at the bottom of the rail into the barrel at the head of the bed.

Pull the plunger knob as you lower the rail into the barrel and release the knob to hold the rail in place. The knob will make a clicking sound when the plunger pin falls in place.

Insert the tube at the bottom end of the rail into the the barrel at the foot end of the bed.

Pull out the plunger knob of the foot end barrel and release it with the same technique as the head end to lock the rail in place. Repeat this process with the remaining rail.
