How to Keep Corners on a Softside Waterbed

Water bed mattresses move around more than regular mattresses, and water bed sheets are designed to wrap around the corners and keep the sheets from slipping. Because each mattress is filled to a slightly different level, the corners of high-quality water bed sheets may not stay put, especially on full-motion water beds. You can add strips of elastic to the corners of fitted water bed sheets to keep the corners in place; the strips will reach further around the mattress and provide stability.

Things You'll Need

• Roll of elastic banding, 2 inches wide
• Needle
• Thread

     Cut four 2-foot long strips of elastic from the roll.

     Turn the fitted water bed sheet upside down and position the strips diagonally across each corner.

   • 3

     Sew the ends to the seams of the fitted sheets.

     Put the fitted sheets on the bed and pull the elastic strips under the mattress as far as they will go.
