Remove the mattress and box spring and locate the source of the squeaking. Sit on each edge of the bed and bounce until you hear the squeaking. Check the box spring and any areas where pieces of the frame connect.
Remove the screws and bolts holding the rails and frame together. Place a plastic washer on each screw, replace the screws and place another washer between the frame and the bolt. Tighten the bolts.
Spray a petroleum-based lubricant on squeaky springs or interlocking connectors at the corners of the bed.
Wrap electrical tape around the legs of the frame where the rails are attached. Poke a hole through the tape, insert the screws and attach the rails. The tape will act as a cushion for the metal pieces.
