Hardwood and laminate floors can be an attractive alternative to carpet or tile, but this beauty comes with a price. Wood floors of all types can easily scratch when you move bed frames or other types of furniture around the room. Such accidents can be prevented, however, with the simple addition of felt pads to the bottom of your bed frame's feet. The felt will glide smoothly over the floor when you push the bed to one side, protecting the wood from damage.

Apply a strong glue to the entire surface of one side of each piece of felt. Lift the bed frame and stick the felt pads, one at a time, to the bottom of the legs. Allow the glue to set for a few hours before attempting to slide the bed across your floor.
