How to Empty a Waterbed Without a Pump

A waterbed fill kit includes a faucet adapter that creates a siphon to suck out the water when it's time to empty the mattress. However, if you find yourself in a situation where you don't have access to a fill kit, you can still drain the bed using an outside faucet and a regular garden hose. If you need to move the bed or find a leak located on the bottom of the mattress, it's better to drain the bed rather than try to move it while full.
