How to Make Two Single Beds Into a Full

A single bed is, as the name suggests, a small bed intended for a single person. A full bed, however, is larger and can be used by one person who needs more sleeping space or by two people who want to sleep together. Switching from a single bed to a full bed involves more than just a mattress change; you have to purchase a new bed frame and box springs, too. To save money, you can utilize your current single beds and combine them into one full bed.

Instructions

    • 1

Strip the sheets and blankets off both beds so that only the mattresses and box springs remain on their respective frames.

    • 2

Push the two beds together so that their long outer edges are pressed together.

    • 3

Tie a length of rope around the legs touching each other where the two frames meet; this will keep the bed frames from separating as you move and roll around.

    • 4

Place a bed bridge onto the two beds so that the triangular part is in the seam between the two beds. A bed bridge is similar to a memory foam top and is designed to fill in the seam between the two beds for comfortable sleep.
