How to Keep a Bed From Rolling on a Wood Floor

It's irritating when you sit or lay on a piece of furniture and it rolls around on top of the hardwood flooring. Some beds even include wheels that make the problem worse. Not only does the constant sliding push your furniture out of place, it may also damage the floor. There are several inexpensive and easy to use products available to secure large pieces of furniture while protecting the surface of the hardwood flooring.

Things You'll Need

  • Bed frame glides
  • Rubber floor protector cups
  • Felt floor protector strips

Instructions

      Remove the wheels from metal bed frames and replace them with rubber bed frame glides. Unscrew or pull the wheels from the housing and press the glides into the housing until they click into place. Twist the glides until they reach the floor to level the bed.

      Place rubber floor protector cups under each wheel or leg to keep the bed from rolling back and forth.

      Place felt floor protector strips beneath each leg. Cut the strips to size, remove the backing and press the sticky sides to the bottom of the legs.
