Paint four yard sticks or 2-by-2 inch wooden boards with sparkly spray paint. Allow the paint to dry completely.
Attach a yardstick or wood board to each corner of the wooden bed using two-inch wood screws for each stick. These are the posts for the fort.
Drape a large purple sheet across the four posts. Attach each corner of the sheet to posts by pushing a thumb tack trough the sheet and into the top of the yardsticks. This sheet is the roof of the fort.
Attach the corner of a large pink sheet to the side of one of the yardsticks with a tack. Stretch the sheet along the side of the bed all the way to the next yardstick. Use a tack to attach it. Pull the rest of the sheet across the bottom of the bed and to the next yardstick. Use a tack to attach the top corner of the sheet to the post. Repeat with a second sheet enclosing the bed completely.
Decide on a place to install a door for the fort. Use fabric scissors to cut a flap for the door in desired location. Use the fabric scissors to cut several holes and openings in the sheets to use as windows and lookout holes.
Attach sparkly ribbon around the windows and door flap using fabric glue. Allow the glue to dry before allowing kids to use fort.
Place pink and purple pillows and blankets on the bed. This will create a cozy and inviting space.
