How to Change a Munire Crib Level

As your baby grows, so does her need for the right-size crib. Once your child learns to pull herself up to a standing position, it's time to change the mattress level of the crib so she doesn't climb out and hurt herself. Munire cribs are specifically designed to keep up with the different stages of growth your child goes through so you can get the maximum use from your crib purchase. The mattress isn't included, so you will also need to get one of the appropriate size at the time of purchase.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the mattress, plus all bedding and toys from the crib.

    • 2

Remove the four allen-head bolts holding the foot board in place using an allen wrench and take down the foot board. The four bolts are located at the top and bottom of the foot board. Place the bolts aside in a safe place where they won't get lost.

    • 3

Identify the eight position bolt holes along the side of the mattress spring frame. There are three position settings -- highest, medium and lowest -- with the highest position being the two bolt holes nearest the corner in each of the four corners of the spring frame.

    • 4

Remove each wing nut from the back of all eight allen bolts and remove the bolts from the spring frame and support bracket. Keep these bolts and wing nuts close at hand because you'll need them right away.

    • 5

Select the position where you want to move the spring frame. For the highest position, use the bolt hole nearest the corner and the next bolt hole in toward the center of the spring frame. For the middle position, use the bolt hole nearest the corner along with the bolt hole following the one for the highest position. For the lowest position, use the corner bolt hole along with the position hole farthest in toward the center of the spring frame.

    • 6

Place the bolts through the spring frame and the support bracket in the desired position. Tighten each wing nut to the back of each bolt, making sure the support bracket is fitted inside the spring frame.

    • 7

Replace the foot board using the four allen-head bolts, tightening them so they're secure. Put the mattress, bedding and toys back in the crib.
