How to Repair a Select Comfort

Disassemble the bed down to the frame by reversing the assembly instructions found on the Select Comfort website. According to Jared Barry, industry professional and bedding specialist, if you find the bed's firmness seems to be off, or the mattress uneven, a simple shifting of the components could rectify the problem.

Give the air chambers, frame and pillow top a gentle shake and reassemble the bed. Lay on the fully put-together bed to evaluate if the shifting helped ease the problem. If not, you will need to contact the customer service of Select Comfort.

Swap the tubes that are connected to the right and left side of the bed if one side of the bed seems to be deflating more rapidly than the other side. By switching the hoses connected to each side of the bed, you will be able to rule out whether the issue is with the air pump. If the opposite side deflates, than likely the issue is the air pump. If it does not deflate, but the side with the initial problem does, then you will know that the issue is not the air pump and will need to perform further testing.

Remove the air tube from the mattress and place on the end cap. If the side with the initial deflation issue continues to deflate, you know that the issue is with the chamber or with the O-ring. At this point you will need to contact the customer service department.
