How to Line Dresser Drawers

If you want to keep your clothes as fresh and new looking as possible, you should line your dresser drawers. Lined drawers preserve the clothes better, because there is no risk of snags from wood or nails. The liners also keep the clothes cleaner and sometimes also smelling better, if the liners are scented.

Instructions

    • 1

Use a measuring tape to measure the inside of the drawers you want to line.

    • 2

Cut your liner according to the exact measurements that you took. Use either plastic or thick paper as liner material.

    • 3

Apply glue evenly to the bottom of a drawer using a brush. Avoid using too much glue.

    • 4

Take one side of the liner and place it down firmly in the drawer. Guide the rest of the liner into the drawer, pressing it firmly in place as you set it in the drawer.

    • 5

Run a bone folder over the lining to smooth out any wrinkles and get rid of any bubbles underneath.

    • 6

Repeat this process for each drawer you want to line. Allow the glue under the liner to dry and set before you begin placing your clothes into the drawers.
