There are several different options you can consider for mounting your headboard on the wall. Perhaps the easiest to use and the most reliable are flush mounting brackets. To install, use a stud finder to find the studs in your wall so you can mount your headboard securely. Make pencil marks where you want your headboard to hang. Use measuring tape and a level to be sure your headboard will be even. Drill your mounting brackets in place in the wall and on the back of your headboard, then attach them together. A great option to coordinate with almost any room's décor is an upholstered headboard. To create a floating upholstered headboard, Use a very lightweight MDF or even a material as light as a corkboard. Cover the front of your headboard with two-inch upholstery foam and hold in place to your board with spray adhesive. Apply a layer of spray adhesive to the top of your foam and apply a layer of cotton batting. Pull the batting taut and staple directly to the board. Cover this with the upholstery fabric of your choice. Install on the wall with flush mounting brackets.
