Disney Fairy Bedroom Ideas

Disney has given us many animated fairies over the years--such as the Fairy Godmother in "Cinderella"--but Tinker Bell and her friends are the most popular by far, especially when it comes to little girls and fairy-themed bedrooms. Fortunately, many general bedding and home stores offer an array of Tinker Bell-themed items. There are also non-themed items you can purchase or create to accent the Disney pieces.
  1. Walls and Floors

    • Light blue walls and green carpet provide a general outdoor appearance for a Disney fairy bedroom design. A light blue ceiling with scattered white clouds not only provides a cheerful sky, but the light colors help make the room seem larger. Light green paint over the doors, door frames and window frames produces a leaf-toned base you can decorate. Tinker Bell- and flower-themed wall stickers around the painted door and window frames add a garden feel to the room.

    Bed

    • Any bed with a basic, white wood headboard can serve as a base for the Disney fairy-themed bedding. Tinker Bell-themed bedding, such as a blanket, bed skirt and pillow shams, helps set the main tone for the room. Pink sheets and flower-shaped accent pillows complete the colorful and comfortable space without taking the fairy theme too far.

    Canopy

    • A canopy over the bed adds a soft touch to the bedroom and is easy to create. The canopy consists of a large wooden ring with long pieces of white and light green tulle hanging down. Plastic leaves and roses wrap around the ring and long garlands of the leafy roses hang down the canopy to create a natural accent. The canopy hangs above the pillow area of the bed so that the curtains fall along the back and sides of the bed without covering the middle area.

    Furniture

    • A light green nightstand with a Tinker Bell-themed lamp and alarm clock complements the bedding without overwhelming the area with fairies. A white dresser with flower-shaped knobs or hand-painted flowers along the sides adds a crisp accent piece and looks good with a Tinker Bell jewelry box or statuette sitting on top.

A Tinker Bell-themed table and chair set provides a craft/play area to keep your little girl entertained. Light green shelves with leaf stencils along the bottom provide craft/toy storage and a place to display Tinker Bell movies, books and toys. A flower-decorated toy box filled with Tinker Bell-themed kids' costumes lets your little girl and her friends dress up like fairies.

    Window Treatment

    • A light window treatment complements the fairy stickers along the window frames and keeps the area from seeming cluttered. A simple white curtain rod with white tulle curtains lets in the light and shows off the stickers. A small loop of plastic leaves and roses at each corner of the curtain rod provides a sweet accent that echoes the floral canopy above the bed.
