Observe the style of decor in the room in which the three-sided mirror will be placed in order to choose an appropriate style for the mirror. For instance, geometric shapes with simple lines work best with modern, minimalist or utilitarian spaces, while highly decorated mirrors suit shabby chic decor.
Purchase three mirrors that fit the space, or have three mirrors specially cut for your needs. Glass-cutting companies and some hardware stores can cut mirrors to size. If desired, request decorative etching. You will need either three mirros of the same size, or one larger mirror and two smaller ones.
Lay your mirrors onto the hardboard or flat wooden backing, and draw around them with a pencil to create a template.
Cut out the template pieces using a jig saw until you have three separate wooden pieces the same shape and size as your three mirrors.
Sand the edges of each wooden piece for a smooth finish. Because the wooden pieces will be behind the mirror and won't be visible, no further finishing is needed.
Glue each mirror onto the corresponding wooden hardboard using silicone adhesive. Silicone adhesive will create a water-tight seal, allowing the mirror to be used in damp areas such as a bathroom or shower room. Allow the glue to dry completely.
Attach a large hinge to the back of the right-hand side of one of the smaller or outside mirrors. Hold the hinge plate to the right edge of the mirror in a central position. Screw it into the wooden backing using a screwdriver. Repeat the procedure for the left-hand side of the other outside or smaller mirror.
Lay all three mirrors out in their final position with the glass facing down. Align the bottom of all three mirrors so that the finished product will be level when standing up. Hold each loose hinge plate on the smaller mirrors in position on the back of the central mirror and screw in place to finish.
