Verify that all parts are present in the vertical bed kit, including large panels and mounting hardware. Lay out the pieces in the room that will house the vertical bed.
Remove baseboard from the wall if any is present. Place the pre-assembled frame and front panel 1 ½ feet from the wall. Be sure to leave plenty of space on either side for the bookshelves or cabinets.
Set the side panels next to the frame and front panel, with the finished edge of the side panel facing down. Remove the clips from the pivot bars on the side panels.
Slide the pivot bars though the holes in the frame. Replace the clips onto the pivot bars.
Mount the thinner end of one of the pistons on the bracket located at the back end of the bed. Repeat on other side. Then attach the thicker end of the piston to the other mounting bracket.
Attach the back face with the included screws into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels. Attach the crown piece in the same manner. The bed frame is now ready to attach to the wall.
Use the stud finder to locate the studs in the wall. Mark their location with the pencil. Locate three to four studs that the bed can attach to.
Using the pre-drilled holes in the top of the vertical bed, screw in the anchoring screws that came with the hardware kit. When finished, the bed should feel like it is a solid part of the wall. Test the folding mechanism.
Re-install baseboard on wall. Place mattress on bed frame.
