Kullen Ikea Instructions

Ikea is a European company that has stores all over the world, offering furniture that is both affordable and functional. The furniture, including the Kullen storage cabinet, is sold in disassembled form and must be assembled by the customer at home. According to Ikea, this saves the customer money and allows them to tote their purchases home, and in many cases without the need for a truck.

Lay the sides of the cabinet flat on the floor with the mounting holes facing up. Line up the mounting holes in the metal drawer slides with the pre-drilled holes in the cabinet sides. Secure the drawer slides with the screws provided and tighten them with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Push the round locking cams into the large pre-drilled holes on each cabinet side.

    • 2

Push the wooden dowels into the holes in the ends of the rear cabinet brace and the three front cabinet supports. Push the protruding ends of the dowels in all four pieces into the holes of one of the cabinet sides. Lift the other cabinet side up and turn it over. Lower the mounting holes of this piece into the protruding dowels on the cabinet braces and support. Secure all pieces together by driving a long screw into each of the holes on the outside surface of the cabinet sides with the tool provided until tight.

    • 3

Lay the top of the cabinet face-down on the floor. Inset metal locking screws into each of the holes at corners of the top and tighten using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Push wooden dowels into the pre-drilled holes in the top edges of the cabinet sides. Position the cabinet top over the sides, lining up the locking screws and dowels with the mounting holes. Make sure the top is flush with the cabinet sides. Rotate the locking cams using a Phillips-head screwdriver 1/4-turn clockwise to secure the top in place.

Position the cabinet so that the backside is facing up. Position the rectangular cardboard backing on the back edge of the cabinet. Make sure the backing fits flush with the unit on all edges. Push on a corner of the cabinet to square it up, if necessary. Secure the backing with the provided nails and a hammer.

Position the four plastic feet at each corner of the bottom of the cabinet and attach them using a hammer.

Push wooden dowels into the holes in the drawer sides and back pieces. Install locking screws in the side edges of the drawer front using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Position the sides, back and drawer front so that the slot in the bottom of each piece is facing in. Push the pieces together so that the protruding dowels line up with the pre-drilled holes in the adjoining piece and slide the cardboard drawer bottom into the bottom slots of the side pieces. Insert locking cams into the large holes at the front of each drawer side.

Fasten the drawer rollers onto the sides of the drawers with the hardware provided and tighten with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Line up the wheels on the rollers with the drawer slides in the cabinet and slide the drawers into position.
