How to Take Apart a Crib Tent

The crib tent is designed to prevent kids from escaping their crib. It is designed for safety, but the child will eventually outgrow the crib so the tent must be disassembled. Taking the crib apart is a simple process that is typically completed in less than one hour. The tent has several poles and straps that must be located and removed before it will separate from the crib. Once the tent is free, it can be simply removed from the crib and packed in the original box.

  Open the door on the crib tent by pulling on the zipper. Remove the hooks from the top rail of the tent. Reach inside of the crib and remove the mattress through the door.

  Locate the Velcro straps that are connected to the crib rails. Remove the straps from the rails. Locate the ties that are connected to the base of the bed. Untie the strings to completely free the tent from the crib.

  Lift the tent from the crib and place it on the floor. Pull on the corners of the tent and slide the end of the tent poles out of the corner pockets. Be careful not to fracture the poles as you place pressure on the corners.

  Slide the poles out of the sleeves and pull on the sections to separate them from the ferrule connections. Place the poles sections in the manufacturer's box. Lay the tent flat on the ground and fold and roll the fabric into a compact package. Place the tent into the manufacturer's box.
