Choose hotel-quality sheets. If you want the feel and comfort of a hotel bed, the sheets need to be up to par. You can purchase hotel-quality sheets with high thread counts at many department stores. Some hotels even offer their own brand of hotel sheets you can purchase. Choose white or very light sheets to emulate that hotel look.
Iron your sheets. The sheets on the bed at a fine hotel are never wrinkled. Because they can be difficult to iron, send them out to be dry cleaned and they will come back crisp, smooth and wrinkle free. When making the bed, fold down the top sheet about the width of the pillow before tucking in the sheet.
Invest in a luxurious duvet cover. A plump, high-quality feather or down duvet is what sets a hotel bed apart from the rest. Along with the actual duvet, choose a duvet cover similar to something you would find in a hotel. Choose a white or beige color scheme. You can also choose a simple, basic design such as a duvet cover with a square border. Hotels keep their bedding very simple and classic.
Use a lot of pillows. Aside from the two standard pillows -- that should match your sheets -- you should have another two or more pillows for decoration that match the duvet cover. Then you should have two smaller decorative pillows that also match the bedding covers. Pile the pillows on neatly, two in a row to create the ultimate hotel look.
