Remove the interior window trim to expose the edges of the window. Use a hammer to work a pry bar under the trim and pull it away from the wall. Window trim is usually installed with nails, but could be glued.
Remove the exterior window trim. Exterior trim might be vinyl, wood, or another material that matches your home construction.
Remove any exterior siding that covers the edges of the window. Depending on the construction of your home, this step might not be required.
Open the window and remove the window screens. This gives you a good place to grab to remove the window.
Ask a friend to hold the window in place.
Remove the interior and exterior screws that hold the window in place using a drill.
Pull the window from the opening. If necessary, use a scraper to release any caulking or putty holding the window in place.
Scrape any old putty and caulk from the edges of the opening.
