Instructions

    • 1

Frame the window. Determine the window’s dimensions, keeping in mind the size of the block you’ll be using. Calculate the size of the opening based on the instructions included with your block. You can’t cut these blocks to size, so measure accurately and frame well.

    • 2

Install a channel made to hold and support your block or build a track for the block to sit in.

    • 3

Slide one block into each corner of your frame. Apply mortar to the edge of your next block. Slide the mortared edge against one of the blocks already in the frame. Use spacers to align your blocks correctly. Continue adding blocks.

    • 4

Make certain your joints are completely filled with mortar and that your blocks are set firmly in place. Wipe excess mortar away with a sponge.

    • 5

Use expansion strips between rows of block as described in the block packaging. Continue to add mortar and add blocks to complete the window.
