Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a wooden kitchen cabinet that is a W3624, which means it is a wall cabinet that is 12 inches deep, 24 inches high and 36 inches wide. Spend a few extra dollars and get a sturdy, solid wood cabinet instead of a pressboard one. Set this on the floor under the window.

Prepare the wall by screwing a 36 inch section of a 2-by-4 about 4 inches under the window frame and also one 6 inches up from the floor. Make sure they are screwed into the studs and not just the drywall. Set the cabinet up against these supports and screw it in place through the inside of the cabinet with the 2 1/2 inch wood screws.

Lay the cloth over the top of the piece of plywood. Flip the board over. You are looking at the bottom of the seat. Bring up 3 inches of the cloth from one side and staple it into the plywood about every inch.

Turn the board back over and lay the batting on top. Drape the cloth over the batting and down and under the other side of the plywood. Flip it again and pull the cloth snug, stapling it into the plywood. Bring the other two sides of cloth in, pulling them with the same tension and staple down. Fix the corner folds and staple them down.
