Measure the height and width of the window and cut ½-by-2 inch wood edging to the correct lengths. You will need one strip as long as the window is high and two as long as the window is wide. Cut each of the two pieces that are the same length in half.
Clean the window well with ordinary glass cleaner. Let it dry completely.
Apply a strip of double-sided tape to the back of each wooden strip. Peel the top plastic off of the tape on the uncut strip of wood edging. Lay the strip along the center of the window from top to bottom.
Divide the window height into thirds and use these numbers to guide you when placing the edging across the width of the window. Apply one half strip on either side of the center edging you already applied. Make sure that the pieces line up as perfectly as possible.
