Windows serve as a point at which heat can escape a house. Modern double- and triple-pane windows are specifically designed to increase energy efficiency, but they are expensive. Single-pane windows can be insulated during winter months and for a fraction of the cost by using heat-shrink window film. The film is virtually invisible, can be easily removed and is readily available at home improvement stores.
