Determine the location and size of the Trackwall panels you want to install. Each Trackwall piece is 48 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. The pieces are shaped with a tongue and groove to fit together lengthwise, and you will use VersaTrack Joiners to connect the ends of Trackwall pieces. You can cut Trackwall pieces to fit with a hand or power saw.
Use the stud finder to locate the wall studs, and mark their locations with pencil marks on the wall. Typical stud spacing is 16 inches, center to center.
Hold the first Trackwall in position, and use a level to ensure it is level. For proper alignment, the Craftsman logo should be positioned in the lower left corner of the piece. Drill two holes at each stud position through the channels in the Trackwall piece. Use a 1/8-inch drill bit and drill 1/2 inch into the stud. Countersink the holes in the Trackwall using a countersink bit.
Attach the Trackwall to the wall and studs using number 10 flathead wood screws. The top of each screw should be flush with the Trackwall surface.
Repeat the installation steps for all Trackwall sections. Use VersaTrack joiners to connect the ends of adjacent pieces, and ensure the tongue and groove are securely engaged for vertically aligned pieces.
Install accessories such as hooks, shelves or baskets by hanging an accessory on the Trackwall and using the knob to cam lock the accessory into position.
