Hook a tape measure on the bottom edge of the drywall corner. Stretch the tape measure to the top of the corner. Remember the measurement.
Pull the tape measure along the drywall corner bead. Make a length mark on the corner bead with a fine-tipp marker. The finer the marker tip, the more accurate the length mark. Cut along the mark with a pair of straight-cut aviation snips. Discard the cut piece of corner bead.
Hold the corner bead against the drywall corner. Ensure both edges of the corner bead sit tight to both pieces of drywall entering the corner.
Run one 1 1/2-inch drywall screw through the corner bead, one inch down from the top with a screw gun. Ensure the head of the screw sits tight to the flange without causing it to bend. Repeat the process with another screw on the other flange of the corner bead.
Place one 1 1/2-inch screw every 8 inches through the length of both corner bead flanges. Check every screw to ensure neither flange is bent or bulging. Loose any screw causing a bulge by turning it slightly counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver.
