Measure the wall for the tile board. Tile board is typically sold in 4-by-8-foot panels. Determine how many whole panels you will need and how many panels will need to be cut to fit. For example, if you have a wall that is 8 feet wide and 10 feet tall, you would need two whole panels and one panel cut in half horizontally to fit the wall.
Make your cut lines on the back of the tile board with a pencil, using a yardstick to help you get a straight line.
Position a rotary saw at the top of the panel and move it down along your line to cut the panel.
Squeeze construction-grade adhesive in a zig-zag pattern on the back of the tile board.
Cover the front of the wall studs with a thick coat of adhesive.
Firmly press the tile board onto the wall studs so the adhesive can get a strong grip. Continue until all the panels are up on the walls.
Apply pieces of masking tape around the joints between the tile board and along the edges of the tile board. Leave a space that is 1/4-inch wide between your pieces of tape.
Load a tube of silicone caulk into a caulk gun. Depress the plunger to lay down a 1/4-inch bead of silicone caulk on the joints and edges.
Smooth out the caulk with your finger, if you are wearing gloves, or the back of a spoon.
Remove the masking tape immediately or the caulk will adhere it permanently to the tile board.
