Position a 1 1/2-by-3 1/2-by-60-inch wood stud on the working surface. Set two 3-inch metal L-brackets against the ends of the long, thin sides of the stud. Arrange the two brackets so one 3-inch side is flush with a long, thin side of the stud and the other side is flush with the end of the stud, sticking out perpendicularly away from the stud.
Mark the locations of each of the bracket screw attachment holes on the wood stud. Remove the two brackets from the stud and drill out each of the holes. Reposition the two brackets and drive 2-inch wood screws halfway through each of the holes. After all of the screws have been partially installed, completely install the screws.
Stand the 2-by-4s up and hold a pallet up between two 2-by-4s, with the large surfaces of the 2-by-4s placed against the thin side of a pallet. Drill a hole every 12 inches through the inside surface of each pallet and into the stud. Position 2-inch wood screws in each hole in the pallets and into the studs. Drill each screw through the pallet and halfway into the stud, then go back and tighten each screw in place.
Attach the wall to the ground if a permanent attachment is desired by positioning the wall in its intended position. Mark the attachment screw holes on the ground. Drill out each hole in the ground. Position 3-inch wood screws in each bracket hole and tighten them into place to secure the wall to the ground.
Add more pallets as needed to form the wall, placing studs on either side of each pallet.
