How to Join Basement Frame Wall Sections

It's common, when finishing a basement, to install frame walls onto the cinder block or poured concrete walls of a basement. A normal way of doing this is to build frame walls on the floor then raise them and move them into position against the walls. The frame wall is then secured to the floors and ceiling joists. If you have a long wall, you'll need to build the frame wall in sections and then connect them together when they're in position against the wall.

Things You'll Need

Drill a series of pilot holes into the studs, 16 inches apart, from the inside edge of the studs.

Insert 4-inch wood screws into the holes and tighten to secure the wall sections to each other. Remove the clamps.
