Dig the first hole using the spade. The depth and width of the hole will depend on the size of the posts, but remember that posts should not have more than a couple of inches' movement within the hole.
Insert the post into the hole. Prop the post using the wooden props.
Check the post is straight using the spirit level and adjust if necessary.
Wearing safety clothing, glasses and gloves, mix the cement in the rubber bucket to the requisite ratio of water according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep the water and hose ready to clean around the post before it is completely dry.
Pour the cement into the hole, bringing the level up to the top of the hole. Hydraulic cement can be completely set in around five minutes. Before the cement sets, recheck the post is still level by using the spirit level. If it is not, use the hammer to gently tap around the post; this will alter its position yet also ensure the cement resettles quickly.
Hose water around the base of the post before the cement has dried to remove loose chunks of cement and residue.
Remove props.
Allow the post several hours (at least three) to properly set before putting pressure on it.
Repeat the process for all the posts.
Attach the handrail according to manufacturer's instructions.
