Instructions

    • 1

Sweep off the concrete walkway with a broom. Make sure to remove any leaves or tree seeds as these could stain the concrete in later steps.

    • 2

Expose the edges of the walkway using an edger. Chop back the grass to form a manicured line along each side of the walkway. Sweep any dirt, grass or weeds off the walkway.

    • 3

Spray any weeds with weed killer. Allow the weed killer three full days to take affect and pull out the weeds. Clean out the cracks the weeds are coming through with an edger. Sweep the walkway off after the weeds and dirt have been removed.

Hook up a garden hose to a pressure washer and turn on the hose. Start the motor for the pressure washer. Pointing the nozzle at the walkway, press the trigger for the pressure washer and hold it down so that the water continuously flows from the nozzle. Work slowly from side to side. The dirt and grime should be visibly disappearing as you move the nozzle back and forth. Continue washing the walkway until you have reached the end.

Mix water with premixed concrete mix in a 5-gal. bucket. Dump a small amount of concrete into a baker's bag. Fill any major cracks in the walkway with the concrete mix by gently squeezing the baker's bag until concrete comes out the tip. Smooth the concrete out with a trowel, making sure that the concrete is level with the top of the walkway.
