How to Set Corner Kitchen Cabinets

Remodeling the kitchen can greatly increase the value of your home. Kitchen cabinets cover a large portion of the kitchen so they have a huge impact on the look, style and functionality of the room. Installing kitchen cabinets can be a difficult task because they must be level and plumb for them to look and function properly. The corner cabinet is very important because it is installed first. All the other cabinets are leveled and attached to it.

  • Level
  • Drill
  • Stud finder
  • Shims
  • 2" screws
  • 2x4" boards for base frame
  • Tape measure

Instructions

    • 1

      Measure the corner cabinet and build a frame to support the cabinet that is approximately 6 inches smaller on all sides.

      Place frame on the floor and attach in the corner to the wall studs with screws.

      Place corner cabinet on top of the base and check to be sure it is level.

    • 4

      Shim the corner cabinet until the cabinet is level and plumb on all sides and surfaces.

      Screw through corner cabinet and shims into wall studs for stability.
