How to Install a Drawer Front on a Keyboard Shelf

Installing a drawer front on a keyboard tray will enhance the look of the cabinet. You will be able to install a knob or pull on the drawer front to make the keyboard tray easier to pull out of the cabinet. The drawer front can be stained and sealed the same color as the cabinet. This job is something anyone can do with only a few basic tools.

Things You'll Need

  • Tape measure
  • Pencil
  • 2 angle brackets, 1 1/2 inch
  • Power drill
  • 12 grabber screws, 5/8 inch long

Instructions

      Mark a line 3 inches in from each end of the keyboard tray where the drawer front will be attached using a tape measure and a pencil.

      Place the angle brackets on the keyboard tray so that half of the bracket can be mounted on the keyboard tray and the other half mounted to the drawer front.

      Fasten both brackets to the keyboard tray and the mark using a power drill and grabber screws.

      Hold the drawer front into position on the keyboard tray. Fasten the drawer front to the keyboard tray using grabber screws through each angle bracket.
