A Noble shower niche provides a waterproof, tile-ready space for shampoo, bar soap, hair conditioner and other hygiene items. Niche corners allow for easy installation of square tiles. In fact, the Noble Niche installation process requires only a moderate amount of knowledge of construction and assembly.

  Verify the contents of the Noble Niche package to ensure you received the correct model. Remove the Noble Niche from the package.

  Position the Noble Niche between two wall studs in the desired location. Use a carpenter's level to assess the evenness of the Noble Niche unit. Use a permanent marker to trace around the Noble Niche perimeter on the backer board. Cut out the outlined dimensions traced on to the backer board with a circular saw.

  Apply 100 percent silicone caulk in an S-shape to the cavity's backing beneath the backer board. Insert the Noble Niche into the cavity. Use the caulking gun to apply a bead of silicone to the Noble Niche edges to create a waterproof seam. Do not spread the sealant over the surface.
