How to Clean an Emery Thompson Batch Freezer Daily

Knowing how to clean one isn't that difficult, especially when you maintain daily cleaning of the device. Things You'll Need

  • 1 gallon white vinegar
  • 1 gallon hot water
  • 5-gallon bucket
  • Funnel
  • Wash rag
  • Organic disinfectant spray

Instructions

      Insert the tip of the funnel into the top of the batch freezer's inlet hole. This is the same entrance for adding dessert mixes.

      Pour the vinegar into the funnel.

      Pour the hot water into the funnel. Don't use boiling hot water. Hot tap water is sufficient.

      Place the 5-gallon bucket beneath the spout at the front of the batch freezer.

      Turn on the device and allow it to churn for three to five minutes. This swishes the solution around inside the machine to clean it thoroughly.

      Turn off the batch freezer and unplug it. Lift up the release at the front of the device that dispenses product from the spout. The solution will begin to drain from the spout into the 5-gallon bucket. Let it do this for up to 30 minutes to make sure it runs through completely.
