Installation Instructions for Renold DCB Coupling

Machine operators install couplings on rotating shafts on machinery where the shafts supply power to motors and other equipment. Some couplings, such as the Renold DCB coupling, come either as flexible or rigid systems and are used in many different types of industries, such as crude oil pumps and engines in sewage treatment plants. Use the same process to install a flexible or rigid coupling.

Instructions

    • 1

Rub the clean cloth over both shafts to get rid of dirt and debris. Smear retaining compound onto the center hole of the two hubs. Apply thread locking compound onto set screws.

    • 2

Slide the one hub onto the machine shaft with through-bores entering the hub. Tighten the set screws into the machinery with the adjustable wrench.

    • 3

Place the midsection onto the shaft and slide it to the hub. Slide the second hub onto the shaft until it is against the midsection. Tighten the set screws.
