How to Attach a Jigsaw to a Workmate Bench

The Workmate bench is a portable tool bench manufactured by Black & Decker. This collapsible work bench is a great alternative for wood workers who do not have enough garage space for a large work bench. The Workmate has the capacity to hold up to 550 pounds and features adjustable jaws and a one-handed clamp system. Jigsaws are handheld power saws with blades that cut in an up-and-down reciprocating motion. In order to attach a jigsaw to the Workmate, it has to be clamped to the front vise jaw.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the jigsaw from the electric wall plug before mounting it to the Workmate bench.

    • 2

Grab the vertical locking bar under the bottom front of the work bench and pull it forward.

    • 3

Lift the front vice jaw until it is locked in the vertical position.

    • 4

Slide the rear jaw in, toward the front jaw.

    • 5

Position the jigsaw body in between the jaws with the blade pointing downward. Slide the rear jaw to the right until the jigsaw is clamped firmly in place and then slide the indexing lug through the rear jaw and the keyhole to lock the rear jaw in position.

Plug the jigsaw into an extension cord or into the wall socket and prepare to use it.
