Instructions

    • 1

Check the 297 grinding wheel to make sure it is not worn or damaged.

    • 2

Change the grinding wheel if it is worn. Do this by loosening the grinding wheel fastening nut on the outer center of the wheel with an adjustable wrench. Remove the nut and the old wheel and slip a new one on. Refit the fastening nut and tighten it with the wrench.

    • 3

Plug the 297 into the wall socket and put on the safety goggles and gloves.

    • 4

Turn the power button on the 297 to the on position and grasp the mower blade with both hands.

    • 5

Tilt the blade at an angle and let the grinding wheel of the 297 spin against the edge of the metal. Work the way up the length of one side of the blade and then turn the blade over in your hands to continue sharpening the other side.

    • 6

Turn the 297 off when the blade is sharpened and then unplug it from the wall.
