How to Install a Digital Readout on a Bridgeport Mill

Bridgeport is a manufacturing company that makes heavy shop machinist tools like lathes and milling machines. A milling machine is a device used to machine large pieces of metal or wood. Aftermarket digital readouts help regulate cutting and display operating results. It takes approximately an hour to mount and connect a digital readout to the Bridgeport milling machine.

  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Phillips-head screwdriver

    • 1

      Locate a spot on the front panel of the Bridgeport mill where the digital readout will be mounted.

      Hold the digital readout's mounting bracket in place and mark the mounting holes with a pencil.

      Drill two mounting holes with a power drill.

      Hold the digital readout in place and insert the mounting screws through the drilled holes. Tighten them with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

      Plug the X, Y and Z data cables into the corresponding jacks on the digital readout. Plug the other end of the cables into the corresponding data ports on the Bridgeport Mill.
