Can the Drawer of the Matco Toolbox Be Removed?

Types

• Matco offers double bay boxes with two side-by-side bays, triple bay boxes with three side-by-side sets of drawers, plus utility cabinets with more storage and more drawers, all vertically arranged. Half utility cabinets are also available.

Options

• You can design your own toolbox configuration on the company’s website, setting the maximum cubic inch, maximum square inch or custom capacity of the toolbox bay areas; designing custom drawer sizes and placements; and adding colors, limited edition graphic designs and upgrades. Among the available upgrades are kick plates; phenolic or stainless steel tops; spring casters; plus security lids for the top of the toolbox and on each bay to lock away important items. Matco toolboxes use TuBar locks. Additionally, the company allows you to personalize your toolbox with your name.

Construction

• Matco uses premium, class A automotive steel to build its toolboxes. The units include a fully-welded center shelf, double wall construction with reinforced vertical L-channels and interior walls that function like I-beams. Each feature increases the load bearing and weight capacity of the units, which are handcrafted in the U.S.

Drawers

• All drawers on Matco toolboxes are removable, allowing you to reach all areas of each drawer, so no tools remain hidden from view. Matco toolbox drawers move on roller bearing slides and offer locking tension systems to prevent them from opening accidentally.

Considerations

• Selecting the right type of cabinet and drawers before you buy is important for personal satisfaction with the product, for efficiency and in helping preserve the item's good condition. The Matco warranty protects against defects in both materials and workmanship, but not against misuse, abuse, damage, heavy wear or modifications made by persons other than authorized representatives of the company. Attempting to alter the drawers yourself will void your warranty.
