Ensure that all of the side brackets and braces are tightly secured prior to moving the scaffolding. Remove any tools or potentially dangerous items from the scaffolding that may fall off during the moving process, and set them to the side where you can easily get to them later. Have any workers step down from the scaffolding before you attempt to move it.
Check all four legs for the wheel locking mechanisms that keep the wheels locked in place. This is generally a lever or clamp that can easily be locked or unlocked using your foot. Unlock all four of the wheels after you have removed all the materials from the planking of the scaffolding and all passengers have stepped off the platform.
Sweep the floor and clear all debris from the path of the scaffolding prior to moving it to ensure no debris gets caught in the wheels which could bring the scaffold to a sudden halt. Push the scaffold into its new position. Move it slowly so you can avoid any potential grinding halts due to trapped debris you might have missed during the sweeping phase.
Lock the wheel mechanisms in place after the scaffolding has been moved to its new position. Recheck all the brackets and braces to ensure that everything is locked in place tightly and thus safe, and put any supplies and materials back in place so you can continue working on your project.
