Curry Tools

Curry Tool Company has an operating history dating back to 1938, and specializes in tools for the masonry, concrete and plastering industries. Their product line features in excess of 1000 tools in stock and custom sizes. This mainly comprises various shapes and sizes of trowels to suit different jobs, although the company also produces other tools, such as hods, brushes and straight edges.
  1. Trowels

    • A huge selection of trowels is available, manufactured in shapes and sizes to suit many construction tasks. These include plastering trowels in stainless steel and plastic, as well as specialty flexible steel or Plexiglas trowels for swimming pool plastering. The choice of materials for cement trowels includes blue steel, Swedish stainless steel and high-carbon steel, and these come with different handles styles, including straight, California or soft-grip. Other options include margin trowels for brickwork, a lightweight trowel made with a 3/16-inch blade curvature designed for finishing drywall joints and a few corner trowel styles for easier working on corner areas.

    Hods and Hawks

    • The plastering hawks available come in either aluminum or magnesium, with sizes ranging from 12- to 14-inch square. These are supplied with a screw-in handle and sponge rubber callous preventer to protect the hand. The Curry hods are manufactured in aluminum, with a regular and large size available.

    Scrapers and Scratchers

    • The floor scrapers available feature a sturdy design to help with floor cleaning following plaster gun application. This tool has a replaceable blade made of extra heavy steel to provide added weight. Other options include angle mortar and blade type scrapers, designed for scraping walls and cleaning angles. Scratchers include a California-type style designed for applying scratch coat, or a scratcher with welded flat steel tines made specifically for scratch coats and textured finishes.

    Straight Edges and Darbies

    • Magnesium darbies come in lengths of 42 or 48 inches, with standard and serrated styles available. Curry straight edge tools also are manufactured from magnesium, with the length of these varying from 4 to 8 feet, in 1-foot increments. Both products feature flexible and hard wearing designs for ease of use and durability.

    Floats

    • The floats produced come in a variety of styles and materials to suit different jobs. These include plastic angle, pure rubber, stainless steel, cork, plastic foam and neoprene floats. The size of the float will vary depending on type, and it is possible to have the final product shaped to suit requirements.

    Edgers and Step Tools

    • Steel cement edgers come in a few different sizes, and include variations in length, width and radius to suit a range of finishes. Cement step tools also feature a steel design, and come in a variety of sizes to suit most standard finishes. Custom sized tools in these styles also can be produced for non-standard finishes.

    Brushes
