How to Clean a Ryobi 18V-1 Rotary Saw

Ryobi is the manufacturer of a wide range of power tools. Along with drills and landscaping tools, Ryobi also offers an immense selection of saws that include both plug-in and cordless types. The Ryobi 18-volt rotary saw is a cordless circular saw that is used for making straight and easy cuts on boards and plywood. Sawdust and other particles can become built up around the blade and blade mechanism. This should be cleaned regularly to keep the saw running well.

    • 2

Remove the blade wrench from the storage compartment just underneath the trigger handle.

    • 3

Press in on the spindle lock button and lift the upper blade guard into the upright position.

    • 4

Slip the blade wrench into the blade screw, which is the screw that holds the blade to the saw. Turn the blade screw counterclockwise to remove it from the spindle.

    • 5

Slide the blade from the spindle carefully.

    • 6

Use an old toothbrush to clean out sawdust and other particles. Wipe down the entire saw and cutting area with a clean rag.

    • 7

Slip the blade back onto the spindle when the saw is clean. Refasten the blade screw using the blade tool, turning it clockwise snugly. Put the upper blade guard back in place, put the blade wrench back into its storage compartment and slide the battery back onto the saw.
