The generator housing is 96.3 inches long, 38 inches wide and 46 inches high. A 5-inch-high bracket with an opening for a hook or hoist is affixed to the top of the generator case. Three submodels of the G70 have been manufactured; No. 0009367 weighs 3,328 lbs., No. 0009468 (0620002) weighs 3,418 lbs., and No. 0620350 weighs 3,544 lbs. When they're filled with fuel and oil, the weights of the three versions increase to 3,964, 4,054 and 4,180 lbs., respectively.
The trailer on which the Wacker G70 is mounted measures 154.5 inches long by 67 inches wide at the wheelbase. The distance from the bottom of the trailer wheel to the top of the bracket is 77.5 inches; this is the height that determines minimum clearance for the entire generator. A single-axle model of the trailer is available, weighing 975 lbs.; the double-axle model weighs 1,100 lbs. The brakes require DOT3 fluid and the tires are size ST225/75D-15D (8.86-inch tire width, 28.1-inch tire diameter, 15-inch rims).
The engine that the Wacker G70 uses to produce electricity is a 99-horsepower John Deere model 4045TF285 4.5 liter (274.6 cubic inch) displacement engine. It is a four-cylinder internal combustion engine with a speed of 1,800 RPM. Its fuel tank holds 89 gallons of diesel fuel, and it requires 15.9 quarts of crankcase oil. The coolant capacity of the radiator is 28 quarts, and its ignition requires a 12-volt battery. This engine uses 4.9 gallons of fuel per hour and can run continuously for 18.2 hours.
The AC generator of the Wacker G70 is either a Mecc Alte brushless generator model ECO32-2L/4 (for item numbers 0009367 and 0009468/0620002) or a model ECO32-3L/4 (for 0620350). The only difference between the two generator models is that the former model produces 66 decibels of sound while running and the latter produces 68 decibels. Both models run at 1,800 RPM and have a three-position switch to select between 120/240 volt zigzag, 120/208 volt low-wye and 277/480 volt hi-wye power output at 60 Hz. They include two duplex 20-ampere outlets, two twist-lock 50-ampere outlets and one twist-lock 30-ampere outlet. Standby power output is 63 kilowatts, continuous output is 58 kilowatts, and the main circuit breaker cuts off at 225 amperes.
