Instructions for DAP Plastic Wood Cellulose Fiber Filler

DAP Plastic Wood filler is thick, fibrous compound for filling in holes and cracks in wood. There are nine wood-grain colors available to match to an existing project that is already stained so that the filler is not visible. The cellulose fibers in the DAP filler appear as wood grain to hide the repair. Using this product takes minimal time and drying time.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour isopropyl alcohol on paper towels and thoroughly clean the area to be filled. Let the alcohol dissipate and dry for one to two minutes.

    • 2

Stir the filler in the container with a small putty knife. Place a small amount of filler on the tip of a putty knife and insert it into the hole in the wood. Press the filler firmly into the hole, adding small quantities until the filler is slightly higher than the wood surface. Allow the filler to dry for one hour.

    • 3

Sand the filled area with sandpaper until the filler is flush with the wood surface. The project may be painted or stained immediately after sanding.

    • 4

Clean the putty knife with mineral spirits immediately after filling holes.
