Ryobi 18V One 201 Instructions

The Ryobi P201 is part of the Ryobi "One" series of products. These products are designed so that the same type of batteries are interchangeable between a variety of products. This makes it possible to charge one battery while using the other in many different tools, and quickly switching the battery from tool to tool is simple as well. The Ryobi P201 is an 18 volt battery powered drill with a keyless chuck system and a two-speed gear train to switch between drilling and driving, and it also supports variable speeds.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the battery pack upside down and insert it into the battery charger. Plug the battery charger into a wall outlet to charge the battery pack. When the light turns green the battery pack is fully charged.

    • 2

Remove the charged battery pack from the charger, turn it right side up, and insert it into the bottom of the drill. The latches on either side of the battery pack will snap into place.

    • 3

Insert the smooth end of the drill bit into the chuck jaws at the tip of the drill. You may need to loosen the chuck jaws to accommodate the drill bit. Turn the keyless chuck clockwise while holding onto the rest of the drill with your other hand. Make the chuck as tight as you can make it by hand to ensure the drill bit is secure.

    • 4

Press the yellow slider button near the trigger to select forward or reverse direction.

    • 5

Press the trigger to begin drilling. Pressing the trigger lightly will spin the drill slowly, while pressing with more force will spin the drill more quickly.

    • 6

Loosen the keyless chuck by rotating the chuck body counter-clockwise by holding onto the rest of the drill with your other hand. When the chuck is loose enough, pull the drill bit out from the chuck jaws.
