How to Use a Right-Angle Attachment on Dremel

Dremel manufactures rotary tools that operate at high speed and low torque, allowing you to drill, grind, cut, and perform many other tasks. Installing and using a right-angle attachment to your Dremel rotary tool will allow you to rotate the tip of the tool to access hard-to-reach areas. Knowing how to properly attach and use the right-angle attachment will keep you safe when you use the Dremel rotary tool.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the black protective cap on the right-angle attachment. The black cap is on the tip and pulls right off. If you cannot slide off the cap, place the tip from any rotary accessory through the housing opening of the attachment to prevent the shaft from rotating. Proceed to twist off the protective cap once the shaft is secured.

    • 2

Twist off the housing cap on your rotary tool to remove it. Press the shaft lock button on the rotary tool, and unscrew the collet and the collet nut on the tip of the rotary tool.

    • 3

Attach the drive adapter to the tip of the rotary tool. The drive adapter is included with the right-angle attachment. Use the wrench included with the rotary tool to tighten the drive adapter.

    • 4

Screw the right-angle attachment to the drive adapter with your hand. Place the collet and the collet nut on the tip of the right-angle attachment.

    • 5

Attach the desired rotary tool accessory to the tip of the right-angle attachment. Loosen the collet nut and push in the accessory, and re-tighten the collet nut to secure the accessory to the right-angle attachment.

    • 6

Turn on the rotary tool and use it to accomplish your task.
