A texture sprayer is used to apply wall texture to the surface of drywall before painting. Wall texture is made of watered-down drywall mud and can be applied in different thicknesses, depending on the look that you would like to achieve. The most common form of wall texturing is called "orange peel" and leaves a lightly-textured finish on the wall that resembles the small bumps on the skin of an orange. Wall texture is applied using a hopper to hold the material and an air compressor to shoot the material onto the wall.
