Smart Level Instructions

A level is a tool used to measure the levelness of set boards in building and construction. Having an exact level surface in building is crucial. The most commonly used level includes a straight body with a small vial of liquid inside it. When this level is placed on a level surface, the bubble inside the liquid falls to the center of the vial. Levels have come a long way with technology. The Smart Level Laser uses a laser to reflect a straight line for builders.

Calibrate the Smart Level first before using. To do this, set the Smart Level on a flat surface and allow it to settle for 10 seconds. Push in the "Calibrate" button and hold it for 2 seconds. When the "CAL1" signal comes up on the display, rotate the level from end to end and repeat this process. Your Smart Level is now calibrated.

Check the vertical or plumb calibration. To do this, set the Smart level against a flat, vertical surface. Press the "Calibrate" button and hold it in for two seconds. When the "CAL1 " message comes up on the display, flip the level upside down against the same vertical surface and press the "Calibrate" button in again for 2 seconds until the "CAL2" message comes up on the display.

Align the laser site on the Smart Level. Do this by placing the Smart Level on a leveling base at the halfway spot between two walls or vertical boards. Aim the laser at the first board and mark the spot with a pencil as A1. Turn the level 180 degrees to face the other board and do the same, this time marking the spot where the laser touches as B1. Place the leveling base and level right next to one of the boards. Mark the position as B1 and then do the same with the other board. The distance between A1 and A2 should be the same as between B1 and B2, approximately a 1/2 inch.
