How to Square a Wet Saw

A wet saw is a special type of saw typically used to cut hard tile. Wet saws have a moving control arm with a diamond blade in it. Wet saws also come equipped with a water pump and a tray to hold water. The water helps to both keep the diamond saw blade cool and to keep tile dust and shards from flying while the saw is cutting. Squaring is the process of properly aligning the saw and saw table so it can cut a straight 90 degree angle in the tile.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the cutting table on top of the roller guide bar, center it and secure it to the water tray by tightening the wing screws by hand.

    • 2

Loosen the knob on the rip guide by turning the rip guide knob to the left.

    • 3

Position the rip guide either to the left or to the right, making sure to align it with the measurement scale to a 90 degree, square angle.

    • 4

Tighten the rip guide adjustment knob by turning it to the right after you have adjusted it to 90 degrees.
