Senco Shf50 Instructions

The Senco SHF50 is a pneumatic nailer used to lay wood flooring. The nailer requires the use of an air compressor, and nails are released when the device is struck with a rubber mallet. The nailer uses a specialized string of nails, which are sometimes called cleats. The nails can be purchased at your local hardware store and are designed to minimize wood splitting and to allow for expansion and contraction of the flooring.

Load the nailer by placing it in an upright position and pulling the feeder clip back. Insert a strip of nails into the clip. Release the clip to engage the loading mechanism.

    • 2

Connect the nailer to an air compressor by attaching the compressor hose to the intake valve on the base of the nailer. Plug the compressor into a power source and turn the compressor on.

    • 3

Use the rubber mallet included with the manufacturer's packaging to tap a section of wood flooring firmly into place, then align the nailer along the edge of the flooring by placing the lip of the nailer's plastic base against the tongue of the flooring and pressing down firmly.

    • 4

Strike the head cap of the nailer with the rubber mallet. The head cap is located at the top of the arm that rises from the nailer base. Striking the head cap will release the nail used to secure the wood flooring. Install a nail every 6-inches along the length of the flooring tongue. Repeat the placement and nailing process for each piece of flooring.

Clear a nail jam by detaching the air compressor hose and pulling back on the feeder clip to release it from the nailer. Remove the nail strips from the feeder, then remove any jammed nails stuck in the end of the feeder. Replace the nail strips after clearing the end and release the feeder clip to re-engage the loading mechanism. Reattach the compressor hose
